To celebrate 100 Years of excellence and continuous growth, NWS is collaborating with the Hilbert Museum of California Art to create a top-tier exhibition featuring 95 paintings from current NWS members and 21 masterworks by early California artists from the Hilbert Collection.

ARTWORK AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Exhibition is open to ALL active NWS Members (Associate and Signature Members)
• NWS invites you to submit one (1)  Museum quality representational or semi-abstracted watermedia painting with a recognizable subject or object. Hilbert’s mission does not include Non-objective art. Abstract or semi-abstract  compositions are acceptable as long as their visual elements contain recognizable objects or subjects.
• Originality: Your entry must be an original work of art, painted only by you, and not produced in a class or workshop. Photo reference material must have been taken by you. 
• Cafe Specs / file type jpeg or jpg / 1200 pixels or greater on longest side / max 5 MB.
• Medium: Watermedia on paper, Yupo or Aqua panels.  Partial collage is okay. (No canvas or water-soluble oils).
• Submission Information: Entry fee is $30 (non refundable).  All work must be submitted through CAFE.  If you do not already have an account, click here to create your free account.  If you already have an account click here to submit your artwork.  
• Painting Size: No smaller than 12”x9”, no larger than 60”x44”.  
• Painting may be from any year as long as it is your best. Artwork need not be for sale.

JURORS:  Entries will be juried by NWS Past Presidents Gerald Brommer (1968 & 1982) and Ken Goldman (2015-2018).

COMMISSION:  If your work is for sale, 70% to Artist; 30% NWS.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: 
Failure to meet ANY of the conditions may result in the disqualification of your entry and may result in ineligibility to enter future NWS exhibitions for a minimum of two (2) years.

• Submission of this image, if accepted by the Juror of Selection, shall constitute an Agreement on the part of the artist to comply with the conditions set forth in this Prospectus, including the following:
• Permission is granted to reproduce the painting in promotion of the exhibition and to use this image for educational and publicity purposes. 
• I realize if my work is selected and I withdraw, or it does not meet eligibility requirements set forth in the prospectus - I will be disqualified immediately and will not be permitted to enter again for two (2) years.
